David Akin is the national affairs correspondent with Canwest News Service. Before joining Canwest, David was Parliamentary Correspondent for CTV National News with Lloyd Robertson. He was also a contributing writer at the Globe and Mail and was a “day-oner” when the National Post launched in 1998. He has won a Gemini Award for television reporting and has been a National Newspaper Award finalist for his newspaper work. Akin studied history at the University of Guelph before joining his first paper, the twice-weekly Orangeville Banner.
